Future full-time teaching opportunities at new UCSC Early Education Center
UCSC Early Education Center is excited to announce that we will be hiring new teacher positions to coincide with the opening of our new location on campus. The first positions are planned to start in late fall 2025. We will seek passionate and dedicated educators to join our team and contribute to innovative programs designed to provide a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for students.
The new center is planned to have::
- 2 Classrooms: Young Infants (4mo–12mo)
- 2 Classrooms: Older Infants (12mo–24mo)
- 2 Classrooms: Toddlers (24mo–36mo)
- 2 Classrooms: Preschool
- 1 Classroom: AM Preschool and After-School Program for TK–2nd Graders
- On-site kitchen with a cook
We offer low ratios, teacher planning time, and staff development days. All Early Education Center teaching staff receive full benefits as UCSC employees with medical, dental, vision, vacation, sick time, and paid holidays.

Opportunities for UCSC Students
Our center is proud to provide opportunities for UCSC students to work part-time as Teacher Assistants (TAs). They are instrumental to our program in providing opportunities for more quality interactions, and engaging curriculum for the children.
TA duties include assisting the teaching team in the set-up of curriculum and maintenance of health and safety standards in indoor and outdoor environments, maintaining classroom materials, assisting in caregiving routines, meal preparation/cleaning up after meals, and facilitating children’s development in all areas of growth.
How can I apply?
Hiring for Fall 2025 has been completed.
All positions are posted on UCSC Handshake. Positions during the academic year require work-study (check your financial aid package to find out if you have work-study). Summer positions do not require work-study.
The hours are part-time (minimum of 10 hours/week up to 19 hours/week), and you must work a minimum of a 3-hour block shift. The schedules must be consistent on Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday. The shifts will be M/W/F or T/TH with the following times:
- 8:00–11:00 a.m.
- 8:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
- 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
- 11:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
- 2:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m.
- 1:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m.
